The design of the house was developed in response to the boundaries and regulations of the site while making maximum use of the available space by obtaining a compact cubic form. The house and the garage are divided in two volumes; between them a pergola is formed that functions as the main access to the garden of the house. This particular formation locates the main garden at the private half of the plot and away from the street. The house accordingly turns away from the street and looks towards the south garden. Wide openings emit deep sunlight and natural ventilation into the spaces and create a balance between the visual weight of the facade and the lightness of the transparent surfaces. All opaque surfaces are treated in the same material making them part of a continuous volume, except for the wooden profiles of the openings that add a touch of warmness to the white texture of the house.
On the inside an open plan allows for flexibility and free circulation. The full height sliding windows connect the inside to the outside; the living area is thus seamlessly connected to the surrounding terrace. The staircase acts as a central element dividing the spatial functions of the house and creating an open circulation in and around itself. The simplicity of the volume and materials are consequently mirrored in the floor plan as well.
