Set in a clearing of a wooded property in Sullivan County, NY, the design of this new ground-up home responds to the expansive views of the nearby pond and the surrounding fields. The construction uses Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) and other innovate techniques to reduce waste and provide a highly insulated shell. The orientation of the new home provides optimal solar orientation for photo-voltaic panels and passive temperature control. The walls and roof are clad in galvanized corrugated steel that reflects the daylight and pays tribute to the silver painted cabin that once stood in the same location.
