There are three magical axises in Novosibirsk — three lines, tracing
through the historical centre of the city. They make their way through
the most important landmarks of the city: Opera Theatre, the square in
front of the main train station and the Dimitrovsky bridge. These rays
seem to meet in one point, but if you look closer. you’ll see, that they
draw a triangle, while crossing. We can see the three giant towers each
lying on one of the rays here, in the place, where the lines meet,
leaving the enigmatic triangular square. The vertical section of space
between the towers is also triangular. These “falling” towers — in
metaphysical look of which one can easily recognize the image of the
famous Pisano bell tower — symbolize the architectonic in extreme
“close-to-the-border-of-reality” state. The towers incorporate the
largest in history architectural museum — “The Siberian Triangle” — the
museum of Siberian art of building. The visitor, who enters the complex
through the high cone made of glass with Fuchou pendulum inside, has a
chance to explore the unique collection divided into three parts: one of
towers is a museum of architecture, another is a museum of urban
planning and the last contains the exposition, dedicated to Siberian
vernacular architecture and art. The museum building has a high-end
equipment: the guests use the quiet moving stairways and elevators to
move through the interior space, the collection contains plenty of
virtual and argument reality items, with many of which one can easily
interact. The height of the stores is enough to place there some big
installations and enormous models. The observation decks on the top of
each tower give visitor a chance to see the wide panoramic views of the
city. The towers construction scheme is intricate — the external
inclined ferroconcrete skeleton bears the reflective glass cylinder
which is suspended to it by a special framework reinforced by a titanium
astringent construction. All the inner load bearing constructions form
the independent skeleton, which has no connection to the shell skin. The
new surprising and mysterious look of the fantastic museum of a
“metropolitan scale” enters the city organically, just logically
extending the inner hierarchy of it.
