Located in the upscale neighbourhood of RMV layout in Bangalore, the site measures around 4300 Sq.ft, with the road along the eastern edge of the site. Clean, sharp lines dictate the design of this bungalow.

The client’s firm belief in Vastu Shastra, governed the planning and the spatial organisation of the house. Coupled with their luxurious lifestyle requirements, the design caters to the needs of all three generations of the family residing here. Thus, integrating modern design principles with traditional values.

The house ,spread over three levels ,has six bedrooms, a living space, a dining area, kitchen, Puja, as well as a home theater and a spa. The lower two floors meet the client’s requirements of segregating public and personal spaces. Stilt level comprises of car parking, an office space and a living space for the house help. On the ground level, living room, kitchen and dining space along with a room for the grandparents is provided. The second floor has two bedrooms for the youngest generation, while the first floor has a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, completed with a small library. Each room in the house has a balcony, so that the users can enjoy privacy and is separated only by glass, giving seamless indoor outdoor connectivity and ambiance. The projections, spread over different levels, breaks the verticality of the structure. The front facade is given a clean and simple finish with the aid of a cantilevered floor slab. The lush green terrace garden, compensates for the lack of open spaces around the site.

On the inside, huge fenestration ensure that ample amount of diffused natural light enters the house, decreasing the dependency on artificial light during the day. Three large cutouts on the first and second floor, creates a audio and visual connection between the levels. Doors are raised until the bottom of the beam, and are finished with veneers and metal inlays, thereby giving them a monumental and majestic manifestation. The interesting use of bright colours in the furniture against light backgrounds brings the spaces to life. From the extravagant use of varied forms of Italian marble, to hand picked Italian made furniture, to custom made ornate lighting fixtures, the house is indeed a true embodiment of luxury!
