Arun District Council Design Award, 2005.
The Shoreline Hotel, at the Butlins Bognor Regis Resort, was the first outward facing hotel concept for the resort. Historically rooms/chalets and facilities were inward looking and the focus was on the guest experience and leisure facilities.
PWP Architects were responsible for the design and implementation.
The ground floor incorporates a reception and booking area as well as a bar/ restaurant, and back of house kitchen and ancillary facilities. The Shoreline has 160 family rooms, all with en-suite facilities in a range of styles and accommodation standards. The building is orientated to maximise the potential for sea views.
The building is constructed using a mostly traditional masonry construction and concrete frame. The building was rendered with an insulated, high performance, coating; both achieving the weatherproofing and thermal insulation with a single skin.
