Shorelake Residence – Missouri City, TX | This single story residence for a private client in Missouri City takes advantage of the large lot on which it sits. The design concept started with wanting to maximize natural light by separating programmatic volumes and connect them with a long experiential circulation bar. Upon entering the foyer, one can see through to a sun-soaked courtyard and patio. The house splits with a great living/dining/kitchen space to the left, and private spaces to the right down a long sunlit hallway. Natural light from grand windows illuminates the living space, continuing the feeling of connection to the outdoors. The connection between public and private is made complete with an adjoining outdoor patio.
