The owner couple chose the site of their new house on the top of the hill in Shirahama, which is surrounded by mountains in three directions and faces toward the ocean in the south.
The one-story house was designed to fit in with the surrounding mountains, with a low roof that would blend along those lines.
The access to the site is from a little entrance off of the northern road which makes a pin curve, and by positioning the house far enough from the attaching road, it increases the dramatic views of the sky and the ocean as you approach.
