This is a project to build a new nursery school building accepting 0-2 years old children in the facing site of the existing school. In Japan typically, one big room is provided for a nursery class, and is used for various actions of living. But I think there is originally correspondency in an act and the place. In infancy, it's very important for children to learn a meal, hand-washing, afternoon nap, and so on. So, I decided to provide many small rooms for each action of living. These small rooms and gaps of them make room for nursing. On this childcare space, I floated a big roof. Because there are gaps between each boxes and between boxes and roof, the nursery space is filled by much light and wind, and children feel comfortable.
