Clubhouse
Island Coast is a mixed-use development located in Airport New City, Da Kong Gang District, 5 kilometers away from Shenzhen Airport T4 Hub and 20 kilometers away from Qianhai Center, a new city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is surrounded by groups of luxury hotels, with the world’s biggest exhibition and convention centre at its west, and facing the riverside landscape at its north.
K2LD was commissioned by our Client for the space planning, the design of 4 different typologies of units and one clubhouse. Given the prominent site location, K2LD elevated the project by creating a sublime design to express the colorful moment of life through space planning and the application of material in a modern living environment, targeting for international elites attracted to this new development.
In the design of the Clubhouse, K2LD strategically applied the concept of a boutique hotel, using natural curvature in the interior design of the space to smoothen the rigidity of the structure. Moreover, the interior elements are accurately positioned at different height to create a permeable space that allows abundance of nature light into the space.
The indoor greenery and water feature compliments the design by blurring the boundary of interior and exterior. With the artistic accent of fabric interweave integrating different spaces, the Clubhouse distinguishes itself from the traditional design, creating an immersive experience for the visitors and becomes a popular destination of the development.
The same design strategy with artistic and geometry elements is applied to the units. Each having a respective color theme identifying its typology, the 4 units are elaborately customized for different family groups, fulfilling the life styles of the modern society.
Red Soho
The 81 sqm Soho designed exclusively for single working professionals by emphasizing on the flexibility. Unlike traditional living room, the TV console is replaced by glass sliding doors that visually connects living area and study room. During weekend or festivals, it can be fully open and seamlessly merges living area and study room into a spacious gathering hotspot for friends and guests.
Among the colours, red is considered to be the most powerful one. It evokes feelings of joy and energy, symbolises the passion and enthusiasm of teenagers. The red is injected into the interior through accessories to rejuvenate the space.
The interior design of study room is tailored for users who work as influencer. The artistic loose furniture provides the flexibility to modify space configuration in order to cater for various scene required for live stream.
A comfy bedroom with full height glass window is indispensable for ideal Soho lifestyle. The bedroom is sophisticated designed by incorporating grid element in light wall panel in contrary to dark- coloured timber flooring, creating the modern minimalist vibe.
A cozy dining corner can be the prefect distress spot for working professions after long day. Large amount of timber is applied to soften the space, blurring the border of work and life.
Home in Blue Hue
The 93 sqm one bedroom unit is designed to be home with an open concept space while maintaining a clear division between the public and private area of the home. The seamless connectivity of living, dining and kitchen are all in one open space, creating a feeling of spaciousness.
A “niche concept” in classic blue draws the eye in the main entrance and kitchen area. The rich blue has completely changed the spatial experience to the home, and finally achieves balance by controlling the proportion of blue colour used.
The continuity of blue shades feature wall is carried through from the bedhead in bedroom to bathroom, exploring the connection between wet and dry area as well as giving the space with a sense of extension.
Radiance
The 2-bedroom unit is designed with purposeful highlight of vivid colour. The brilliant use of softer material in radiant tone brightens up the compact space and celebrates Shen Zhen’s vibrant urban lifestyle.
Harmony
The 3-bedroom unit is designed for larger family. With bold combination of colour and layering of space, the unit gives a sense of luxury and harmony which is unique to the city.
