Chaharbagh is an Iranian garden design, in which the perpendicular passageways divide the garden into four equal parts. Due to the presence of these gardens along streets and villages and other places, those places are sometimes known as Chaharbagh. Karaj chaharbagh is also a resort that surrounds the fruit gardens, thus the identity of this place is affiliated with trees and gardens. These days, due to growing constructions and the conversion of gardens to recreational villas, buildings are occupying the trees, and at least the gardens have become a collapse of buildings. This project attempted to maintain trees and planting them on the roof of the building, acting as a platform for tree planting at the upper level. Therefore, a cylindrical shape, which is perfectly compatible with the shape of the tree trunks of the gardens, was selected as the base form and was designed in the 9th part of the plan for organizing the villa space. These cylinders were designed at different levels to provide trees at different altitudes of villagers. A sensation similar to the hanging gardens of Babylon, which creates green terraces around mankind, as if a man is on a hillside forest and at the same time under the tree’s shade and above the level of their green umbrella.
From the Karaj road to the village of Aqdasiyah, towards Chaharbagh and the sports village, we are faced with a huge crowd of old trees shaded all the way, creating a completely sensory recreational route. However, these days, since rain and surface waters have declined, farmers have altered their lands and gardens, consequently villagers replaced Cucurbits fields and fruit gardens, and in each piece of these gardens trees are replaced by buildings.
This area is attractive for people because of its pleasant climate and greenery. But, this natural beauty is slowly changing with an increase in constructions, and the green umbrella of the gardens is replaced by the gable roofs of the villas.
This is what we are asking for, so that if the building is to be built in the garden, our maximum effort is to keep the garden in place. Thus, we decided to move the trees and place them on the building, making a platform for raising the trees. As a consequence, users at different levels are under the shade of these trees and enjoy a garden view from above.
