Ico Migliore has conceived for I-MESH two special tapestries to be displayed as part of the “Tapestry Collection by Alberto Fiorenzi” at Alcova Milano during the Milan Design Week 2018.
Shades. BW and Shades. BW+R have been conceived as systems that are able to construct a strong dialogue with the space for which they have been designed and the horizon in which they are located.
Inspired by the concept of transparency, the tapestries designed for I-MESH are shaped by the light and the relationship it constructs with the surrounding scenary through the graphic language of textures.
They are open, extremely permeable forms that are designed to be passed through and to interact with the void, where perception changes according to the alterations in the light and the background.
The chosen filaments combine white and black, with orange interwoven throughout as an element of dynamic contrast that is charged with positive energy.
Thanks to its natural properties, the I-MESH material interacts with light and shadow and situates itself in perfect harmony with the studio’s design approach and with the experiments into the environmental perception.
The Tapestry Collection by Alberto Fiorenzi, with the curatorship of Cristiano Toraldo di Francia, has been presented at Design Week 2018 and has embarked on a dialogue with a special and coherent location - the fascinating post-industrial space of the historic Cova confectionery industry in the NoLO area of north Milan, emerging and trendy - as well as conceptual proximity with the ALCOVA experience - art direction by Joseph Grima, curated by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt: a sophisticated, workshop- esque and international Fuori Salone.
