ŞH House is located in Urla, in a quiet and natural environment. The mass of the building is shaped according to the relationship of spatial functions. The bedrooms are in the masses with terraced roofs and natural stone facades on both sides of the building. There are two bedrooms in each of these masses. These spaces connect to the volume of the living room and kitchen in the white mass with a high ceiling and gable roof, which is located in the middle of the structure. In order to carry the roof load of this space, timber trusses are used, which can be seen from inside.
The stone material of the masses on both sides of the building was provided from the neighborhood. The bedrooms on the south part of these masses have large windows looking to the landscape. The central garden surrounded by the walls on three sides, is formed by shifting the masses with stone facade in the plan with respect to the white main mass in the middle, and thus creating a defined outdoor space. When the large glass sliding doors of the living room are opened, the garden can be used as an extension of the interior space. These large windows support the feeling of spaciousness, which is intended when walking from the bedrooms into the living space with a high ceiling.
In order not to be affected from the cold winds during winter months, window openings on the northern facade were kept minimal. The kitchen has a horizontal ribbon window on this facade and this creates a frame with a view to the natural landscape.
