I propose a solution which aims on one hand the consolidation of pre-existences and simultaneously the mediation of the different spaces in the square. The new building shows it self to Avenida Luisa Todi creating a close relationship with the monumental scale of the portico, either through the mass ratio or through the amplitude of the span. Here is the grand entrance.
The building almost touches the Avenue in order to receive the largest influx of flows. The volume is implanted in a longitudinal position, leading us to the interior of the square. The parking volume gets on-high and allows for free movement and absence of restrictive barriers to main existing flows.
Due to Baluarte de S. Bras, the volume undergoes a fracture preventing any construction, dividing the library program and strengthening the idea of an easy access and high permeability. The library program is divided into three groups and physically manifests the same way.
