The Inter-Professional Health Education Building will align the medical and clinical programs of two institutions, integrating a new, four-year school of medicine and graduate nursing and allied heath education programs to meet healthcare needs. The facility is an adaptive reuse of a multi-story research laboratory building on a former biomedical research campus located between Hackensack UMC and Seton Hall University. The project planning approach capitalizes on use of the existing building fabric as much as possible while strategically building out key inter-professional educational space. The centerpiece is a multi-modal virtual healthcare training center containing clinical skills, mannequin simulation, physiology labs, occupational therapy labs, and activities of daily living lab, nursing skills and health assessment bed labs. This is a CO|FXFOWLE joint venture project.
