McGill University wanted to provide students with first class, modernized, direct and effective assistance in a space that would encourage communication. For this, the various student services, formerly offered in 6 locations and 4 separate buildings scattered on campus, were to be integrated into one.The new Enrollment Services or Service Point is located in the heart of the campus life. A large glass canopy signals the Centre and shelters the students waiting at the entrance during busy times. From the main entrance and reception desk, which opens to a multipurpose room enclosed by curved glass partitions, visitors are directed to the center for prospective students or to the service area. The service stations are mobile and custom designed by ékm to offer privacy and provide the students a personalized service. Two meeting rooms are available to small groups or families who wish to speak in private with the faculty staff, and a large meeting room allows the whole staff to meet daily. At the rear is an open and bright workspace, organized for more than one hundred employees. Opened in June 2010, Enrollment Services meets the expectations of users and serves as a model for other institutions.
