Sentul Markt Lane: Industrial Character with Organic Soul
Inspired by the romantic charm of an Italian hillside village, Sentul Markt Lane is masterplanned as a terraced destination that follows the site’s natural contours. The result is a people-centric environment designed around movement, interaction, and experience.
Markets, restaurants, and event spaces are seamlessly woven together to form a vibrant gastronomic and social hub. Meandering pedestrian streets lined with characterful eateries invite exploration, while rooftop dining terraces open to sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

Architecture, Experience & Public Realm
The pavilion architecture draws from regional Indonesian vernacular, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Patterned screens, stone horizontals, and layered pavilion forms come together to create an urban sanctuary—one that feels both rooted in place and alive with activity.
The design celebrates the public realm as a space for gathering, discovery, and connection, where architecture becomes a backdrop for everyday life.
Pavilions & Walkways
Elevated walkways and layered façades shape the landscape, allowing natural light and airflow to move freely through the development. Shaded zones, landscaped pockets, and intimate seating areas ensure comfort throughout the day.
Designed to encourage movement and exploration, the pavilions lead visitors through a series of experiences—from the shaded gastro market to winding pedestrian paths and rooftop dining terraces overlooking lush greenery. Each journey is layered, sensory, and immersive.
Material Expression: The Details
At the heart of the Gastro Market, materiality becomes a defining feature. Cascading vertical fins of Corten steel form the façade and mezzanine enclosure, arranged in varied lengths to create a sculptural, layered effect. The composition recalls Indonesia’s dense forest canopies and the stalactite formations of its limestone caves, grounding the architecture in its natural context.
The weathered patina of the Corten adds richness and depth, echoing aged timber and the oxidised textures common in tropical climates. In contrast, bold black metal-clad pillars with a brushed finish introduce clarity and structure, balancing the organic irregularity of the fins with a refined, modern edge.
Street Retail Pavilions
The street-facing pavilions combine robust materials with warm detailing. Precast concrete defines the vertical rhythm at ground level, while metal pillars with a wood-like finish soften the industrial character.
A horizontal band of Andesite stone separates the first and upper levels, reinforcing the layered composition. Above, terracotta-panelled screens add warmth and permeability, allowing light and air to filter through. The pavilions are crowned with a black metal-clad roof in a brushed finish, giving the overall form a contemporary, urban silhouette.
The Central Pavilion & Valley Dining
The Central Pavilion continues the same material language, blending strength and refinement. Entrances are framed with textured precast concrete, grounding the base, while upper levels introduce Corten steel elements contrasted against sleek black metal roof edges.
The Valley Dining Pavilion highlights its terraced form through vertical precast concrete at the ground floor, layered with Andesite stone as a horizontal separator. Upper terraces are enclosed with Corten railings, and a black metal-clad roof defines the skyline—uniting raw materiality with contemporary detail.
Coffee Labs
The Coffee Labs are expressed through two distinct material identities.
The first pairs gold perforated metal panels with black metal cladding, creating a refined, contemporary statement.
The second blends wood-like metal finishes with perforated panels, offering a softer, nature-inspired character that merges seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
A Contemporary Tropical Landmark
Together, these architectural layers create a destination that feels both modern and deeply connected to its context—an expressive blend of industrial strength, tropical warmth, and community-driven design. Sentul Markt Lane stands as a vibrant public realm where architecture, culture, and experience converge.
