Dr. Nikolas Jimenez had a simple goal: to re-invent the dental office. He challenged Soluri Architecture to rework a dental office’s program and to design a dental-spa containing a dental opertory, two spa treatment rooms, a dental lab, a reception counter and waiting area - all within 633sq ft.
SA worked with Dr. Jimenez to analyze his program, breaking it down into its most essential element so they could be re-organized through a performative analysis to accurately reflect the actual flow of work and people within the space.
The design consolidates the major programmatic requirements into and around a central opertory made of ½” tempered translucent glass, allowing continuous circulation throughout the space and illuminated via a continuous cove of LED lights.
Sensident was featured in the exhibition New York Now! 2009 sponsored by the AIA, which features examples of the best recent work in New York City by chapter members.
