The
Masterplan Selite North-East, is planned within an area which has
more disarticulated and partially arranged design projects. The
primary design scope is to give a clear identity to the area
re-establishing an urban continuity within the surrounded areas. The
image so produced perceives the contemporary research of fragmented
complexity within an organic identity. The design appears as
a building made by separate elements that, moving and overlapping
each others, produce voids going through the building which connect
visually two sides of the plot. Very much attention is given to
the “green system” that is planned into the complex: green areas
are placed into the voids on different levels and many terraces are
treat as roof-garden.The “emptiness” so produced at
different levels of the building, is used for public space with
gardens, restaurants and facilities in order to facilitate the local
micro-climate allowing the wind to pass through and preserving the
environment conditions. In this way, the “emptiness” is
conceived as matter that links the surrounding in a flexible and
dynamic way that is a characteristic of contemporary living. This
zone is a spatial, visual, and functional connection point: it is an
intersection for the public and private space, daytime and night-time
activities, and interior and exterior flows. In this way, it assumes
an autonomous role, a representative space capable of bringing the
urban complexity inside the project and becoming interface of
exchange.
