Project collaborated with ZhouShan Architectural Design Institute.
Located in Zhoushan Ding Hai Xian (舟山市定海县).
In a dock on the coastal city ZhouShan in China, the department in charge of managing the city garbage transfer power and other firms will share the new building complex.
Both city managers and design team think the taste of the building is not only reflected on the function and appearance, but also reflected on how to shape the building and site’s unique personality and value, and will survive in what way and attitude. This takes carefully considerations.
Act according to actual circumstances: as the unit enjoys sea views and the adjoining mountain ranges, designers hope to connect the sea and the mountain, rather than cut off the connection. As the best dress it the suitable, building volume is the most sensitive factor. The decision after careful comparison and research is that a 10-layer single narrow tower and podium under three layers is the most suitable design for the site.
A full range of landscape: Personality derived from environmental features. The site itself has a superior environment. The sunshine, air and landscape inspired the design team to adopt the concept of a ‘full range of landscape’. Let the building fully integrated in the environment. Horizontal linear lighting design emphasized more on this feature Ecology. Buildings occupy the nature, also must reward the nature. In the design, all kinds of ecological element are set on each elevation of the building. For example, using bamboo to create balcony afforested environment, creating a garden on the roof and using the skylight in the platform square.
Social public space: Privacy of the office and publicity of the office building is always a pair of contradictions in urban design. Designers in the building keep public space indoor and outdoor as much as possible, enabling people to get more publicity and social interaction.
Education: Garbage transfer dock stimulates the thinking of the designer, why don't we reflect the relationship between the city and garbage in the architecture and landscape and add educational significance to it? Borrow the concept of the”Go” game in the design aims to express the spatial conflicts between the city and garbage. Greenland and pavement in the landscape compose the grid chess board, while the trees, chairs and trash cans are chess pieces. These features keep reminding us that our living space in the future depends on our action of environment protection and waste disposal today.
Rich content will inject vitality to the coastal building to make it elegant and beautiful.
