Scorpios Bodrum, is a boutique resort on Turkey's Aegean coast that seamlessly blends nature, architecture, and human interaction into a sustainable retreat. The resort's design is centered around the movement of sunlight, creating an immersive experience that spans from sunrise to sunrise. The master plan, resembling a small Aegean village, features twelve island villas and diverse amenities, including a village square, reception, sports cabanas, beach decks, retail areas, and dining facilities.
The project maximizes the potential for a 360-degree settlement of the land. The Ritual Space is located on the east coast, facing the sunrise, while event areas are placed on the northern side for sunset views. The beach club is situated on the calm waters of Cennet Bay. Each room offers variations in direction and views, enhancing the unique guest experience.
The architecture incorporates 80 cm thick masonry stone walls inspired by nearby old towns, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic authenticity. Natural materials like stone and wood are extensively used, enhancing the project's sustainability. Shading elements are employed for climate control, both in the rooms and event areas.
Scorpios Bodrum's design emphasizes indoor-outdoor harmony, integrating natural elements such as stone, wood, and water to enhance the sensory experience. Villas feature spacious terraces and private pools, offering open-air living throughout the day. Green roofs and gardens promote biodiversity and passive climate control, aligning with the resort's commitment to sustainability.
The project aims to minimize environmental impact by selecting a site with previous construction and reusing 95% of existing materials as aggregate for new construction. It prioritizes protecting green areas and designing landscapes that focus on plant biodiversity, incorporating local species, and planning efficient irrigation systems. Recycled water from gray water systems is used for irrigation, enhancing water efficiency. Extensive green roofs reduce the heat island effect and integrate the resort with nature.
