19C Church renovation.
What started as primarily a restoration of the existing decaying fabric quickly morphed into a requirement to improve amenity generally.
The communities goal was to restore a once beautiful pressed meal ceiling but through the FUSE design process quickly grew to make reverent all facets of a largely compromised space.
The sensitive architectural intervention seamlessly integrated audio, visual, digital and environmental systems whilst visually decluttering years of ad-hoc and incremental development. Seating and aisle modulation were rationalised to facilitate quiet and solemn movement and existing furniture and icons were designed for both fit and purpose.
The intervention although significant is imperceptible without specific reference to what was there before.
