The School of St. Joseph - Primary Classrooms, is located in Gokulnagar, a suburb of Agartala city, in Tripura, north-east India.
Built amidst a rubber plantation, this Primary Section consists of Classrooms and Washroom facilities.
It is to be part of a proposed education campus on the same site and is the first school to be instituted directly by the Diocese of Agartala, Tripura.
The building is of ground floor only and is built with reinforced cement concrete frame, brick wall infill and sheet roofing.
Bordered by a corridor space that is framed with unplastered local brick pillars, the building presents a minimalistic appearance with the materials of construction and methodology of construction expressing its style.
The corridor along the classrooms serves not only as a spill out space for the insides and as an open entry area to the classrooms, but also as a buffer for the interiors against the tropical climate - heat and rain, of this region.
