Established in Chile, this project is the first academic venue for North American music. Due to its characteristics it required very technical acoustic aspects to allow for the proper functioning of its installations, as well as an attractive design for its users. We were challenged from the start, as generally acoustic conditioning elements lack design. So we thought about how we could add value with good design. The carpet was very inspiring, and starting there we thought about how to work with the acoustic Fonac Pro palmettes for the walls of the rooms, which we cut into hexagons and mixed two different types to enrich and balance the design. The rest of the elements we worked with involved testing materials, textures, colors, and final details. We worked with container-type sheets, brick walls, wicker, and cement finishes creating an informal atmosphere. The graphic elements relating to music really transmit rock culture to users. One of the rooms that we liked best was the recording studio, dedicated to Latin American rock. From the passageway you see the richness of the interior elements.
