Situ Fabrication was commissioned by artist Mara Haseltine to fabricate a portion of a sculpture installation depicting the SARS Protease Inhibitor. The installation was created to commemorate the laboratory that discovered many critical aspects of the SARS virus, leading to a successful containment of the 2003 epidemic. Our role was to fabricate the forms that would be used to produce a bronze cast of the sinous sculpture. The completed sculpture is installed in a courtyard of the Biopolis complex, a 2,000,000 sq ft biomedical research center designed by Zaha Hadid, located in Singapore.
