Located in Ankara's Alacaatlı district, the Santra Villa Settlement project spans a residential parcel of 51,770 m². As a villa settlement containing numerous villa units, key design factors include vehicle and pedestrian circulation within the site, as well as the distances and positions of the residences relative to each other. The design emphasizes essential living spaces like living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and parking areas, alongside areas designated for personal hobbies, entertainment, relaxation, and work.
The impact of the pandemic has led to a focus on open space utilization as a design factor in the Santra Villa Settlement project. In this context, garden and terrace usage has been increased to facilitate outdoor activities. In addition to the individual villa gardens, a substantial area has been designated as a communal landscape area. This aims to foster a green ecosystem and provide natural shaded areas for various family activities. The design incorporates mass movements to create differentiated outdoor spaces that offer natural shade, while the facade design considers sun positioning and indoor comfort. The project also includes a grey water usage system and rainwater harvesting within the parcel. Solar panels are planned to be installed on the villa roofs for electricity production. The design integrates social spaces and open area amenities within the residences, unveiling the diverse possibilities of the concept of home. Besides the villa units, social facilities and commercial units are included to meet the daily social and cultural needs of the residents. These amenities are intended to be within walking distance, reducing the carbon footprint by minimizing the need for vehicular travel. The overall aim is to provide a healthy living environment that supports a variety of activities, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
