SAND HOUSE — Dubai
By Manuel Ruiz Moriche · ARK Architects
Set within the extraordinary landscape of Dubai, Sand House emerges as a refined expression of bio-architecture — a residence conceived in harmony with its environment, where light, water and natural materials shape a deeply sensory living experience.
The architecture is defined by fluid geometries and soft, continuous lines that respond to the surrounding landscape, creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. Large expanses of glass dissolve boundaries, allowing natural light to permeate every corner of the home while framing curated views of water, vegetation and sky.
At the heart of the project lies a strong commitment to materiality. Stone, wood and textured surfaces are carefully selected and composed to create warmth, depth and a timeless atmosphere. Light is not only welcomed but carefully modulated — filtered through architectural elements to generate shadow, rhythm and a constant dialogue throughout the day.
Water plays a central role in the spatial experience. Reflective surfaces, pools and landscaped courtyards introduce a sense of calm and continuity, reinforcing the connection between architecture and nature. The surrounding vegetation is not ornamental, but integral — designed to enhance privacy, microclimate and wellbeing.
Sand House is conceived as more than a residence; it is an environment designed around the lifestyle, emotions and wellbeing of its inhabitants. Every space is carefully orchestrated to create balance, silence and a sense of retreat.
This project embodies ARK Architects’ philosophy: creating architecture that breathes — where design, construction and nature come together to shape a unique and timeless living experience.
