Virgin America, San Francisco-based airline, was launched in July 2007 aiming to make flying good again. The in-flight cabin experience is known for its mood-lighting, virtual service, personal ‘Red entertainment’, seat-to-seat chat rooms, and comfortable leather seating. To complete the luxurious passenger experience, this project reflects the in-flight cabin experience at Terminal 2 of San Francisco International Airport. The project focused on the Departure Hall, SKYLOUNGE, and the Arrival Hall of the 610,000 ft2 terminal. SKYLOUNGE acts as the waiting area for the First Class and Main Cabin Select passengers. The lounge has a nightclub to achieve Virgin America’s goal of creating a community in the sky.
