This project restored this historic structure after substantial damage from superstorm Sandy. The existing building was raised to meet FEMA requirements, gut renovated inside and a significant addition was built to take this community institution to the future. The kitchen, bar and outdoor spaces were re-designed and brought up to modern codes. The exterior was completely renovated with new windows, doors, roofing and siding.
Rise Projects began working on schematics to restore the Saltaire Yacht Club and allocate spaces for modern use. Our design took full advantage of the views and light by maximizing new openings and windows while maintaining the original spirit and sensibility of the club and how it fit in with this beach community.
