The Saint-Quentin-Fallavier project aims to create a last-generation, peri-urban food logistics platform for the Les Mousquetaires - Intermarché group. The beauty of the project lies in the complexity of the programme encompassing a row of buildings of various heights having simple and legible functions and laid out on a joint podium. The lower level of the building houses the automated loading bays and the docks on a massive, linear and monolithic podium, which forms a unifying base for the whole volume and supports the warehouse facilities. The upper structures are cladded in an end-to-end single ribbed cloak of aluminium on which photovoltaic modules can be installed. The tinted double-skin facade has several roles: it acts as a building insulation device and provides facade ventilation as well as light and heat control.
