Saatchi & Saatchi, the advertising company, has a large presence at 375 Hudson Street, and due to ongoing changes in group composition and clientele, space planning & design are in constant flux. The project at hand is part of a facility-wide effort to transition from individual offices and windowless areas to an open studio environment. This particular area required the removal of selected partitions while retaining an intricate pattern of two kinds of ceilings with multiple heights. Treating the mismatch as an interesting feature, pieces of the partition are retained as dividers separating the disparate elements.
