Saan Verdante is a gently reclining structure, which has characteristics of both a perimeter block and a multi-story building. It has a stepped silhouette due to its featured terrace gardens which provide an expansive view of its surrounding landscape for each apartment. The terraces play a major role in keeping true to the form of the building, which gives the buildings their unique appearance of terraced hills.
Its form is driven from the need for an extension into the exterior from the interior. Terrace gardens provided at each level for each apartment and are open to the sky. This helps the residents to discover a habitat where the best in class contemporary living blends harmoniously with serenading natural surroundings. The terraces provide the people the freedom to enjoy the luxury of a house with its extended garden, or exterior spaces, which normally apartments lack, and these spaces act as room for most of the year. This helps the residents to discover a habitat where the best in class contemporary living blends with serenading natural landscape.
The floor plates play a game of light and shadow by reclining inside or projecting outside and thus help to mitigate the harsh sun of Northern India. Within the tower, a double-height meeting plaza is proposed for chance interaction between the residents, inspired by the rudimentary Indian concept of chauraha or chaupal. The Skydeck on the 9th floor provided in the tower acts a temporal space, functioning as a Creche during daytime and by evening a serene congregational space for residents.
The complex accommodates a swimming pool, a lush central green as well as spacious yoga centers which form a micro-climate that encourages the residents to engage at the ground level of the site on a regular basis, reinforcing a stronger sense of community.
The extended exterior spaces from the apartments link the structure to the landscape and hence provide a visual connection that also encourages interaction. The privacy of the users is also maintained in the form of balconies which form cozy alcoves for each bedroom at every level, it not only ensures that the scale of individual unit is in incompact with the total built fabric. It provides each apartment with an individual identity and amenity while maintaining privacy and comfort.
Hence the idea of a neighborhood concept is kept in mind while designing the Saan Verdante complex. The design attempts to transform traditional quality into a modern vision.
