We were pleased to be invited to design a runway for the annual fashion show at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Our installation implemented the logic of forced perspective, a tool used for centuries in theatrical performances to both bring an audience closer into the set as well as establish a sense of drama. The design consists of simply pitched projection surfaces that frame a small portal through which the runway extends. The immaculate white runway and back lit entry provide an ideal backdrop for viewing and photography. This utilization of forced perspective focuses the audience’s line of sight directly to the models and fashions showcased.
