The project is about the renovation and extension of an apartment located in Paris.
The living space is redesigned and the surface of the apartment is completed by a master suite in the attic.
The living room ceiling is demolished to allow access to the parental suite. This intervention has helped to increase the height of the living room and create additional light arrivals through the installation of roof windows.
The existing framework has been made visible and enhanced.
Access to the attic is via a custom staircase. Solid wood beams, of the same section and essence as the existing beams, were used to make the steps of the stairs. The volume under the stairs has been treated as storage furniture.
The parental suite integrates a bathroom, arranged above the kitchen space, as well as an independent bath. This master suite is open to the living room thanks to the installation of a glass wall, allowing to visually enlarge the spaces and to benefit from several light arrivals and a natural through ventilation.
