Ho Chi Minh City is facing significant pressure on its land supply due to population growth and high demand for housing. Due to limited land funds, home ownership for young people is increasingly difficult. They have to choose a small land to accord their economic conditions. Therefore, a new arrangement is needed - a new spatial perspective - to ensure that the small land can arrange all necessary functions and provide a good living space.
Rubik House is not about a rotating exterior house but rather the smooth rotation of box-shaped elements inside to address the space constraints on this 20m² land plot.
Each floor serves a primary function. The ground floor includes the living room, kitchen, and dining area. The first floor is the bedroom, and the second floor consists of the altar room and Multipurpose Room. Auxiliary spaces are positioned around the main functional areas to make the hallway short and convenient for approach.
These auxiliary spaces also serve as heat reducers for the main functional area, maintaining a comfortable temperature inside the house.
