The goal of the redesign of the '86 Field was to create a quad-like space for students to use recreationally, along with a student center to house student exhibitions, permanent installations, and a cafe. The intention of this particular design was to encourage movement toward the focal point, the structure and the exhibits that it contains at any given time. The site layout is based around the paths taken by visitors and the directions in which their eyes travel. Essentially, this project creates an emphasis on the paths of eyesight and then uses this as a tool to bring people into the student center.
