On
a limited bay front site, this pavilion was designed to honor the competitive
history and celebrate the future of the Rowing Club. The pavilion
houses a century’s worth of artifacts and acts as an event space for parties
and other social events. The elongated event space is defined by a hull-shaped
ceiling pulled from the edges of the room to reveal the sky and allow daylight
to penetrate the space. Chris Johns served as the Project Designer and Manager
for this project while working for ARCHITECTS hanna gabriel wells.
