Fratelle Group was engaged by the City of Armadale to provide architectural design services for the development of the area of Piara Oval South including the design and documentation for a community facility (pavilion), playing fields, play grounds, car park and surrounding landscaping.
Piara Waters is a relatively new suburb for the City of Armadale, with a growing population. The City of Armadale had committed to providing new community facilities within the suburb, additional to the recently completed pavilion in Piara Waters North.
The City’s Community Strategic Plan outlined the need to provide for its residents a wide choice of facilities, and through the agreement with the Department of Education (DoE), provision of facilities that can be utilised in and out of school hours. This is a benefit to both the City and the DoE, as it allows for a greater usage of spaces, and allows communities to more effectively use the spaces allocated within structure plans.
The Piara Waters (South) playing fields and pavilion provided an opportunity to strengthen connection within the community, creating a meeting place that is used both in and out of school hours and provides the City with a valuable new sporting asset that provides another amenity to the City to assist in meeting their strategic plan.
