The progressive curriculum at this private school in the Hamptons informs our design for a new media arts center. To be used by 11th graders whose studies focus on the Industrial Revolution, the interior emphasizes that era's Constructivist nature in counterpoint with softer forms and natural finished hardwood.
A steel frame forms the skeleton of the two-story center, on to which equipment and custom-designed furniture and partitions can be attached easily. It also houses extensive cabling allowing for universal connectivity. The facility also includes a digital editing suite, media storage library, design studios, and offices.
