The project of Rosewood was to create and build an approximatly 120 seats ''pub'' type restaurant in Old Montreal. The callenge here was create this ''pub'' type restaurant with a certain class to fit in Old Montreal area, but in the meantime having enough flexibility to please pub fans. I decided to work with raw and noble materials like wood, steel, marble, concrete, leather, and set up 2 different ambiances as we had a mezzanine to work with. So I decided to do a black and gold oriented atmosphere for the first floor, and more relax on the mezzanine with light ceiling to have a restaurant looklike feeling. Already in the first days, we noticed that the clients were able to chose the floor they wanted depending the type of experience they wanted to have. Also, the mezzanine is offering a great option for groups, as there is bigger banquettes, and the clients will be a bit away from downstair's action. In addition, the fluidity created by the design makes the circulation optimal for the clients and the service staff.
