Brand Architects were involved in the major reconstruction of this Primary School, carried out in several stages over 4 years. By reusing and recycling the old buildings, it was possible to completely revitalize the entire school on a tight budget of only $6.5 million, plus contributions from Rosanna Golf Link’s dedicated school community.
The School is known for it’s innovative and inclusive approach to education. There are a significant number of deaf students who are supported by a Deaf Facility, and all the students at the school are taught to communicate in Australian Sign Language.
The project aimed to support the strong community of the school by creating spaces for the community to come together, from parent gatherings in the new outdoor amphitheatre to whole-school gatherings in the new Multipurpose Hall or on the new artificial turf basketball courts.
Beginning with the construction of a new Administration Building and two new Learning Community Buildings, the project was completed with the refurbishment of the BER building and two old 1960’s LTC buildings into a Multipurpose Hall and new Junior Learning Community, Library and Deaf Facility.
