THE LOT IS DIVIDED INTO 3 ZONES WITH DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS. THE FORTRESS BECOMES THE CULTURAL FOCAL POINT FOR ITS IMPORTANCE AND HERITAGE. AROUND IT, LOCAL FUNCTIONS TAKE PLACE. AT SOUTH, A RECREATIONAL AREA WITH SPORT FACILITIES. THIS POSITION IS OPTIMAL BECAUSE IT’S THE MORE ISOLATED FROM THE RESIDENTIAL LOTS, WITH TREES TO FILTER THE NOISE. LOCAL SERVICES ARE SITUATED ON THE NORTH FOR EASE OF ACCESS AND INTERCONNECTION TO THE CITY AND ITS SERVICES. WITH THIS PROJECT, A NEW WIDE PERMEABILITY ALL-AROUND IS REACHED, NOT JUST FROM THE LOT TO THE CITY, BUT ALSO BETWEEN THE FORTRESS AND ITS SURROUNDING. THE ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT OF THE NEW BUILDINGS IS INSPIRED TO THE FORTRESS, SO THE FUNCTIONS ARE “UNDER” THE TOPOGRAPHY, AND THE BUILDINGS THEM SELFS BECOME PART OF THE TOPOGRAPHY AND ARE INTEGRATED IN IT. THE NEW ARCHITECTURE IS USABLE FROM THE OUTSIDE, AS PART OF THE PARK, BEEING ACCESSIBLE FROM GROUND TO THE ROOF AND CONNECTED WITH BRIDGES TO THE FORTRESS, FUNCTIONING SO AS A CONTINUATION OF THE FORTRESS ITSELF. THE BUILDINGS TAKE SHAPE FROM THE FORTRESS PERIMETER AND DEVELOP AROUND THE TREES AND OVER THE OLD OBSOLETE BUILDINGS, PRESERVING THE NATURAL STATE OF THE PARK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THE ROOFS ARE NOT ONLY JUST PART OF THE PARK, THEY ALSO SERVE THE BUILDINGS FUNCTIONS. ON THE KINDERGARTEN IS A GARDENING SPACE FOR CHILDREN TO LEARN HOW TO GROW THEIR OWN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. OVER THE SPORTS HALL IS A SOCCER FIELD. THE SOUTH FACADES OF THE BUILDINGS ARE SHADED WITH BRIE-SOLEILS, WITH AN INCLINATION DEPENDING ON FUNCTION AND ORIENTATION. THE APPROACH TO THE FORTRESS IS VERY SIMPLE, IT PRESERVES ITS WILDINESS BUT HOST NEW ATTRACTIONS FOR THE PUBLIC, AS A PLACE FOR THE MORNING COFFEE, OF REUNION, RESTING, ART AND SPECTACLE. AN ITRIGUING SPACE, A SURPRISE IN THE BORING RESIDENTIAL TISSUE.
