This residence hall is the first project to be developed as
part of our 2007 residential master plan to guide housing development on
campus and to support the university's goal of 80% on-campus
enrollment.
This project creates a new campus gateway and embraces a major
pedestrian path that charts its course through the site, connecting
north and south precincts. The two residential wings form a courtyard to
the west and offer dramatic views to Mount Hope Bay. These elements
contribute significantly to a sense of place on the Roger Williams
Campus. What was previously seen as a remote and somewhat desolate
precinct is now a destination.
The residence houses 350 upper class students in a diverse mix of
apartments and suites including ten-, six- and four-person units and
single capacity. All units include full kitchens. The central hinge
structure linking both residence wings provides community activity space
for the entire campus including a great room, seminar and study rooms
and a cafand game room.LEED Silver certified
