Two summer houses are designed on a sloped plot in Naxos Island. The aim of this project was to create two private summer residences that reference Cycladic architecture. The houses were positioned to offer unobstructed views of the sea while ensuring maximum privacy from each other. By taking advantage of the natural landscape, the optimal solution was to place them side by side. One house is situated higher than the other, with a natural rock formation acting as a strong boundary between them, blocking the view from one house to the other.
The design incorporates simple shapes, linear volumes, and boxes, arranged to create space and courtyards between them. The materials used—white plaster, stone, and wood—blend Cycladic architecture with the rocky landscape. Large pergolas are designed in the exterior spaces of each house to provide shade during the summer. The linear pools run parallel to the main living areas, enhancing the feeling of connection to the water. The pools are surrounded by a stone base to anchor them more firmly in the landscape.
