Our team designed the renovation of the Woodward Technology Center at Rock Valley College (RVC). The Woodward Technology Center is the home of a recent partnership with Northern Illinois University to offer bachelor’s degree programs in engineering on the RVC campus. The project included the renovation of more than 10,000 sf to update laboratory spaces, 3,000 sf of new flexible learning labs, 2,000 sf of classrooms, and 1,500 sf of office space.
Nearly 2,000 sf of additional lobby space was also reclaimed under the existing exterior entrance canopy. A total of four student collaboration hubs were added off of the main circulation routes. The existing lobby and circulation routes received a complete makeover with new finishes that make the public spaces brighter and inviting. The new and updated laboratory spaces include large expanses of glass which support the college’s theme of engineering on display.
