This villa is located in the northern region of Iran, in Gilan Province, Some’e Sara city, on a 2150 square meter land with a approximately 500 square meter building, fifty percent of which is allocated to covered outdoor space.
The main concern in this project has been the identity of Gilan's architecture, designed with a modern interpretation harmonizing with the present-day needs of humans (users) and utilizing elements from the northern region of Iran. Some of the components used are as follows.
- Using a sloping roof
- Using a platform and making a part of it, as an entrance porch
- Use of north-south air flow
- Avoid the disturbing west light and wind
- Use of narrow terraces around the building
- Creating interaction with the surrounding green space
- Avoiding common decorations and ornaments.
In order to coordinate the idea and the design, the building was designed using a geometrical grid which have an external appearance in the building structure. For this reason, the use of exposed concrete and visible structural elements became one of the features of this building.
The lighting of the project has been calculated by lighting specialists and designed in consistency of the building’s structure to highlight the ideas.
A modern and simple interpretation of Gilan local architecture and using the its characteristics has been one of the most important goals in the design of this project.
