This project was a combination of two one-bedroom apartments both lacking natural light. The clients both liked dark, rich woods, paint colors and textiles and were attracted to a wide range of diverse materials. The lighting design became essential in order to bring warmth and brightness into a potentially dark space. The original beamed ceiling was restored and painted a beautiful silver. Existing millwork was stripped down and painted to compliment the surrounding apartment rather than dominate it. Bringing together all of these contrasting textures and elements, Lauren created an elegant compostion.
