'River Flow' shopping centre flourishes in the heart of Isfahan's new urban development.
It offers 96,000 sqm area spreading over a ground, 8 overground and 5 underground floors of various functional juxtapositions and superpositions.
The Green and lively internal courtyard as a protected place against hot desert currents, inside the city's traditional buildings has been a source of inspiration. Adopting the idea, our building stretches out to embrace the greatest possible number of people and greet the nature while cushioning against surrounding unpleasant urban flows.
Questioning current solid blocks arranged through which movement flows and urban landscapes, our architecture is crafted in coalesce with people dynamics and landscape flows. Its form is smoothed out in such a way that guarantees the maximum movement inwards and outwards. Inside dynamic labyrinths are created to enable smoother movements.
Our architectural design favors the creation of a place enabling opportunities for a collective living. Spatial diversity contributing to a greater permeability of the complex is reached by creative games of solid and void, terraces, bridges, and three entrances at different levels allowed through seamless blending with the natural topography. The main entrance at the eastern side, as the identifier of the building, is a welcoming plaza open to the garden and fountains and functions as an event space.
Central atrium provides the greater possibility of seeing and being seen throughout the different levels, encouraging visitors for further exploration. Entertaining activities, restaurants and cafes enjoying outstanding views of the river and cityscapes from various appealing terraces all could help upper floors turn into tempting venues to accommodate a big crowd.
The Green rooftop as a unique public space and a tunnel connecting the existing park with the shopping centre are our architectural measures to conveniently engage a greater number of people into this social place.
