We worked closely with the owners of the restaurant to develop a peacefully space; one that would put people at ease, as if they were guests in a private home. The three owners include two chefs and a computer engineer who decided to leave his job in London in the hopes of living simply and well. Our design philosphy is that beauty can be found everywhere, and it’s certainly not only restricted to the intrinsic value of a material or place. Instead, we belive beauty is found in fragments, in evocative forms and statements. In essence we try to keep together two worlds, the old and the new, in a balance capable of maintaining the identities of both, in which light and shadow are kept in their ambiguity and plurality, without sacrificing the reasons of one to expense of the other.The precision of the day, and the sensuality of the night held together in a form that can contain the high degree of ambiguity. The precision of the design is undertaken with great rigor, turn to the element in which the imperfect action of time has passed an unusual energy.Our special relationship trying to hold together these oppositional forces, such as strength and fragility, the perfect and the imperfect...Each project represents a path and an attempt at synthesis of these issues.
