Rietvelden is a project of a new district with 270 houses in the village Wormerveer (North Holland). The new residential and health care district Rietvelden will be a new area where houses and health care will be integrated. HM Architecten Amsterdam was asked by corporations Parteon and Evean to make the urban planning and to design the buildings. The new area had to maintain its village identity and the human scale. HM Architecten translated these values by small, friendly, open and recognizable architecture. The two areas, Rietvelden North and Rietvelden South, will be built in two different phases. In both areas there are health care facilities and varied housing options: rent and sale, attached houses, apartment blocks, patio houses and waterfront houses.
