Rich Beach consists of enhancing the pushkinsky
theater by bringing it its past glory back. We are helping an old fashioned
star to get back on stage.
The first condition of this come back is to get all the contaminating elements
off. To find the original shape of the theater, the base must be simple and
strong. This mineral socle is now developed with a black paint and pink neon
lights.
Pushkinsky theater has to keep
a visual impact in the city. That's why we propose to make it shine with a
golden Corian® blanket.
The system of Corian® External cladding is an easy way to cover the existing
wall and give it a brand new look.
The rich beach module is inspired from the actual façade design but it enhances
it by changing this flat grid into a multitude of shiny diamonds, that reflects
light of the city. Thanks to this bling bling coat, the building can be read as
an unique object in the city landscape. It gives it a symbolic image into
Moscow, a signal that calls the visitor to come closer.
But the pushkinsky theater cannot exist as an isolated object. It needs to
spread its magic to its direct environment and specially the pushkinsky square.
Rich beach integrates the park in the building renovation process as a path to
the entry. The golden Corian® modules are used to create an entrance gateway at
the other side of the site, and some points in the park. These element form a
material progression toward the building, emphasized by a pink carpet
which escorts the visitor to the theater. A bright spots grid creates a glitter
ceiling, a classical sign of theaters, and a signboard made of neon lights
marks the entrance.
